I haven't had my laptop very long, only about six months but it started slowing down. When it starts it beeps five times. It is a dell dell inspiron 15, and I wanted to know if it was so bad that I'm going to have things replaced inside it. It still starts it's just really slow if it still functions is it going to cost as much to get it fixed?

Hello Jacqueline,
My name is Krishna and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell. Based on the beep code pattern, it looks like a RAM read/write failure. Reseating the memory modules should fix the issue. Depending on your system model, you can get the service manuals from the below link.

Also, If you want to e-mail me your Service Tag number and current shipping address, I can have a look at your warranty status to see what options we have. You can reach me at [email protected]

Bad RAM? Not that the RAM has failed, but try using an eraser to clean the contact pins on the RAM chips. If that doesn't work, then send it to Dell.
Resit the RAM stick!
boot-up and disable your screen saver!
download Ccleaner, when finished installing it,open it and tick every boxes on the windows tab but not the wipe free space box! and tick all boxes on the application tab" the clock "run cleaner", when it's done, close it!
run disk defragmenter!
