My parents were, and it just seems like a lot of people are happy no matter how old the other is. But one of my teachers said that today couples who are 6-10 years apart or more are "frowned upon" still. I doubt it's true. Any insight?

Depends. If the woman is older, that is usually frowned upon. If the man is older, it depends on their individual age and on their surroundings. If she's 18 and he's 28, the difference is bigger than in, let's say 32-42 case, because, early twenties are a time when someone develops and forms themselves as a person. So, a 28 years old man has his life already figured out, and 18 years old girl doesn't, whereas 32 and 42 year-old are more or less on the same page.
That's how I see it.
But, really, it doesn't matter as long as the couple loves each other and they get along.
Age is just a number, who gives a hoot about what makes a person happy!!!!
im 18 and my bf is 27 and we are happy :)
