in the state of virginia?
can a 17 year old girl choose if she wants to live with her mom instead of her dad. even though my dad has sole legal custody of me.
and if not, could i just stop going to his house? or would my mom get in trouble. cause she already has something on her record for keeping me from him before. but that was in october.
i just don't wanna go to his house and i dont know what to do about it.

Until then, your dad still has custody, but if you're in a situation of abuse or neglect, call the police and talk to them about it, but don't go to your mom right away. She could still get in trouble because she's keeping you against your father's will, and he could press more charges. If anything, stay at a friend's house if you can, and talk to their parents if you trust them. If they think it's a case of abuse or neglect and that your father isn't fit to take care of you, they can do something about it.
you should just look in the phone book and look up lawyers and call around till one will answer you .... sometimes it's hard when your not paying for them
