If someone makes false accusations against you with DCF, is that considered slander?
I'm in Florida.. Also, if someone constantly belittles you by email, and your family, is that slander? It's not done too much harm other than emotional distress. Oh, and said person also speaks negatively about your children (in front of them). My biggest question is can anything be done about this???

If someone is making false statements about you, that is slander.
However, the type of things that you are noting would probably not get you a judgment in most states. Most states require actual measurable damage to reputation resulting in economic losses before you can recover anything. Furthermore, in most states claims of emotional distress are only allowed when related to physical injury.
You should consult with a local attorney as to whether or not you have a claim, but don't be surprised if they tell you to let it go.
If you can prove that the person knew the allegations were false and made them with the intent to defame you when they made them to DCF, this is a clear-cut case of slander.
That is not slander. It depends on what the person is saying, if they are threatening your life, you can possibly get a restraining order but if it's just petty little stuff your best bet is to try and ignore it.
If it is false and it continues...then yes... it is slander. Contact an attorney that specializes in that type of field.
