i am pregnant and my underarms are swollen and painful. is there something wrong?
i just found out i am pregnant. the lymphnodes in my armpits are so swollen and they huts really bad. Is there anyone out there who has experienced this symptom with pregnancy?
Update:i just found out that i am pregnant. i know that your breasts are supposed to be sore and swell up however they are not. its my underarms that are swollen and painful. its worse when i wake up then seems to get better as the day goes. this has been going on for a couple weeks now. is this normal?

It's part of the wonderful process of pregnancies!... your breast should be swelling along with your armpits.
I've never experienced it, but I have heard of it happening. I'm pretty sure it can be a normal thing with all the extra hormones and something about breast tissue, but I would call the doctors office and ask just incase. If you dont have a doctor yet, call the labor and delivery unit in the hospital, the nurse on duty will be able to tell you if it's normal or not. I'm pretty sure it is just something with breast tissue.
It is normal. Some women actually have some breast tissue all the way up to their arm pits. When you get pregnant, all your breast tissue becomes tender due to hormones, even the little bits of it that are in your arm pits. I would mention it to your doctor at your next appointment, but there is nothing to worry about, people come into the clinic I work at all the time asking about that.
my breasts and under my arms near my arm pit felt like someone had put house bricks there for the first 8 to 12 weeks of each of my pregnacies!, a good way to relieve the symptoms is to put a warm flannel on the affected area, this helps reduce the swelling and relax's the area.. good luck with ur pregnacy x
oh yea it could be something called mastitis, so if it gets worse or nothing works to relieve it speak to ur dr

Your body could be fighting an infection, or it could just be breast tissue that you are feeling. Breast tissue extends back up into your armpits.
