So am doing my study guide for chemistry and it says
The charge on Si in SiCl4 is 0
The charge on H in H2SO4 is 0
The charge on tin in SnS2 is +4
May someone explain why this element has this charges and how do you determine the charges! Thanxs

SiCl4 and H2SO4 are not inherently ionic, meaning the atoms themselves are not really charged. SnS2 is ionic, however, so the Sn atom has a charge and is an ion.
Your guide oversimplifies matters, however, since there are partial charges and oxidation numbers associated with the atoms.
