Find a quiet place and sit in a comfortable chair with a back. Keep your head and neck straight. Breathe through your nose and use your stomach, or diaphragm, to breathe. When you exhale, count 1, next exhale, 2, etc. up to 10 and then begin again. You can either close your eyes or keep them focused on a single point. The most important thing is to concentrate on your breath and counting - thoughts will come inot your mind but do not dwell on them, just continue to focus on your breath and the count. Try it for 10 minutes and work your way up. Enjoy...
There is a very simple, yet powerful meditation described in an article called 'Effortless Meditation' at http://www.awaken2life.org/ (in Other Work). Also, there is a podcast episode (#6) called "The Art of Meditation" - it is about 15-minutes of audio...this too might be of interest.
