how do i repair my laptop's IP address?
i just got a laptop and the only way i can connect to internet is by plugging in a internet cable if i try to connect wireless it doesn't let me and says i have to repair it when i go to support and click repair and sits there saying "renewing IP address" and after awhile it stops and say "cannot repair cantact network" something like that. How do i fix it so i can connect wireless? do i have to call someone? i have a router and it works because i also have my Xbox connected wireless help please.

Most wireless connection problems are caused by the encryption not refreshing itself properly.- or by miss matching passwords.
If you are not using or haven't yet set up a (secure encrypted) wireless connection. Turn off the router at the mains and then turn of your laptop and the xbox. Turn off your modem or cable box then turn it back on. WAIT 1-2 mins. then turn the router on and wait 1-2 minutes. turn on your laptop on and see if it connects. be patient and give it 3 minutes to re-connect.
If still not working after a few mins then open the network wireless connection icon at the bottom right of the taskbar and do -connect to your router's network using the password (if you used a secure connection) Try these steps first before coming back here for more help.
