My poor cat is very near death and hasn't eaten anything in days. She still drinks water, though. She doesn't seem to be suffering. She's just very, very weak. I keep thinking she'll go on her own at any minute, but she keeps hanging on. I wish she could go peacefully, in the comfort of her own home, but I don't want this to go on and on. I need some advice!

if shes not suffering then theres really no need to put her to sleep. its a personal choice which no one can make for you. if she isnt suffering though i would say enjoy her company until nature takes its course. provide hot water bottles with fleece wrapped round them for comfort. prehaps offer her tiny amount of treat food. whisked slightly cooked egg, tiny pieces of boiled chicken and rice boiled in chicken stock.
If she isn't eating anything, it's time. She may not seem to be suffering but she's starving to death. She is in pain. I'm so sorry. It is always a horrible decision to have to make, but it is necessary. I understand you want her to be comfortable at the end but quick euthanasia is better than starving, even though she wouldn't be at home.
Again, I am so sorry.
Look, just give her a set number of days...
if she is suffering though .. you know what to do
it's hard it know... i have a old dog with dementia that just wonders around and can not walk but ive had him since i was 8 and now im 20 some odd years old.... for heck sakes...
I think when they stop eating and don't seem happy any more, than that's the time. It's always a hard decision to make unfortunately :( Some vets will come out to your home to do it :(
