If you write fantasy, science fiction, or any other type of fiction?
In other words state something you completely made up or used to fit your own view on it...
e.g.) I made up a new breed of horses.
Update:Lol@David) You still called me Firepaw. That's cool though since it's still my nickname everywhere but here for now. I might change it back one day though. Who knows?

Huh, apparently someone here thinks that "putting away childish things" means "you can't have fun anymore, ever." How sad. :( (Disclaimer: I'm 50. I roleplay online, but I don't cosplay, although I admire the time and effort that cosplayers put into their chosen craft.)
I've made up alien races. I made up a winged snake sort of thing for one of my stories (yes, I know winged snakes have been done, but this was MY winged snake). I've put my own spin on several different species of werewolf. I've made tech up, both steampunk and futuristic.
It's the nature of the genre. We make **** up.
It rather depends on what the story is about but I do occasionally make up things. I am starting to plan another novel and have invented a material called Scaphite - at least I hope it is an invention. I have looked it up in various places but can find no mention of it anywhere so I am hoping it is my invention. I have never made up a breed of horse before - sounds intriguing. Good luck with your writing...
I don't know Firepaw. I mix my imagination and experiences up to the point where they're blended together and can't be separated. And I don't make up new things if there are adequate old things that will do. So in my latest sci-fi story, 300 years in the future, there are the same horses that we know today. Pizza is still cooked in ovens and guns still fire bullets.
The day had been hard and long for space kitty. her tired head bobbed about the reactor gate fusion coil assemblies as she desprately placed each alignment post to the magnetic core relays. She wanted to go to sleep but knew if she did her crew would be doomed. All post had to be activated before they left orbit of the planet Neor as the gravity link would only function outside the atmoshpere of the planet. She called down to the engineering platform for capt.Tabby to send her an impulse beacon to the sattelite uplink boards for confirmation. He shouted back "meow!" .... I mean sure commander. As the great ship lurched forward into the atmoshperes outer layer the navigator began to purr a familar sound of hope to the crew. Just as they broke free of the atmosphere the unthinkable happened. Space snow everywhere, cold, non conductive and very unfriendly to space cats. Hairs stood on end as they saw it cover the ship....... part two next week in "The adventures of Space cats 2500" (Imagnetication is everyting)
I personally don't make things up to be honest. I have more confusing and suspense-ful story lines. I think imagery plays more into my stories, but I just write what comes to my head if I'm honest.
Shadow,
I once wrote a scifi story where the names of the characters and places were real words, but they were spelled backwards. One character's name was neila, which is alien spelled backwards.
PJ M
I made up a whole new history of vampire and war between angel and demons
When I was a boy i had imagination but when i turned 13 father said to put away child thinking. so no i dont have imagination at 21. i find it awkward that people even role play on line or dress up at theose comic places
