I don't visualize a beautiful place as much as sometimes feeling overwhelmed emotionally. I can easily get goosebumps. There really do seem to be pieces that can get to you. That said, I can get pushed to the edge by opera, but in that case I am visualizing the plot.

When I'm playing the piano I try to visualize a scene or story with my piece to make myself more emotionally invested.
I prefer romantic/impressionistic composers like Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Dvorak, Chopin, Brahms, Ravel, Sibelius, etc
