Gun Control: Thesis: This paper argues that restricting guns will not make the citizens any safer.?
I am writing a presentation paper about gun control. I have 4 reasons: Guns and Children, Self-Defense, Individual blame, and possibly talking about the black market. I am trying to write the paper but i am having issues really of finding anything. This whole paper is for my critical thinking class. For all the 4 reasons i also need 4 objections that are against my reasoning's. I hope some would could help me that knows more about guns or give my your opinion. I am not asking for one line opinions. I mean like reasons why your are for or against. Or if someone could get in touch with me who is a good writer to help me figure out how to write this paper would be very helpful too. I am sorry I writing so much but I am very despaired at this point. My paper is not due until Monday but I really need an A in this class. SO I take all the help I get.

"More Guns, Less Crime" by John Lott
He proved through meticulous research that the counties with the most restrictive laws on firearms had the highest rates of violent crime. Conversely, the counties with the most firearm ownership and least restrictive laws had the lowest rates of violent crime. It's not a very large book and it's written without much technical language so it's easy to read.
We already limit gun ownership. You can't own an Uzi. You can't own a grenade launcher. You can't own a sawed off shotgun. You can't own a flame thrower. All of these can be considered firearms. If you want a great piece on firearm go to youtube and type in John Oller Gun Control. You will see a brilllant piece from The Daily Show. He will blow your mind.
The bad guys prefer unarmed victims!!.
When seconds matter calling 911 and asking the bad guy to wait is not a viable option.
Better to have a gun and not need it than to need it and not have it!!!
**Police do not protect you from crime, they usually just investigate the crime after it happens.**
You can start by postulating how many mass murders there are at gun shows, where everybody is armed as opposed to schools, where nobody is armed.
Or there is no debate, and you can focus your argument on the 2nd amendment and the fact that the right to own and possess firearms shall not be infringed.
