You can apply on line to places like home depot, Lowe's, Costco, Sam's club, etc. What about amusement places like water parks, bowling alleys, movie theater's, miniature golf? Wal Mart hires people all the time. Many stores hire overnight workers. Think of the things you like to do and are good at or know you have the potential to do learn and do well..Get a resume together and list any volunteer work, school and boy scout awards..etc. Even if you've never had a job just a simple resume is something you can hand to prospective employers with an application. Put yourself out there and make yourself available. Follow up on any applications you put in and on all interviews you get. Be energetic, confident and friendly. Let everyone know you are looking for work. Good Luck!!

Try waiting tables....I did that in high school and made great money on tips. You could also work at a hotel cleaning rooms. Or start a lawn service cleaning peoples yards. You can also wash cars for people....you would get a good tan doing this also! If you are good with kids offer to babysit or work at a summer camp with kids. You could house/pet sit for people going on vacation.
A cashier at a grocery store is a good idea. That's what i did when I was 17. Or a "bagger, " if they still have those. Or you could even stock shelves.

Try theatres, Janitorial services, stock clerk at the malls, bagger/stocker at grocery stores.
you should totally work at the movies! It is fun, and they even give you discounts and free movies!
