My husband works in an all male environment and I was surprised to hear about the gossipping that goes on. I would say these men are worse than any women that I know of. So I believe that both men and women are just as bad as each other.

Women probably gossip more, but that is because women are more likely to talk about what they feel about a given situation.

Though men can give there fair share as well, because everyone no matter what likes to gossip. We all like to talk about each other.

Gossip is what gets rumors and lies started when you talk about others behind their backs and they are not there to defend themselves and can be harmful to relationships and trust. Women are apparently more famous for gossip probably but that does not mean that all women gossip which is definetly a stereotype. Men can be just as bad if not worse at times.

I think "gossip" means talking about others when they are not around to confirm or deny what is being said. It is how rumors and lies get started. Do I think that women do it more than men? No way. Men do it too, they just gossip about other things. Women may talk about how Suzie down the street is sleeping with Sally's husband, while men may talk about how Jimmy at work screwed something up because he was too busy flirting with the secretary.

Although i would say women take it further , men wouldn't run up and start moving there hands and shouting if they found out someone bitches about them ( atleast i hope not )
