However, curl ups build arm muscles and so on. More muscle mass = Higher metabolism which will cause your adipose tissue (fat) to be burned. So indirectly it would burn hip fat.
Curl ups are for strengthening the abdominal muscles. In order to burn fat you will need to do some sort of cardio exercise and watch what you eat. You can read some more info in my article - link attached.
smh some peoples kids!! you burn fat total body wise!!! not just from your hips!! you may be genetically programmed to store fat in your hips!! others on their stomach, ***, etc. You have to just exercise to lose fat or weight in general!!!

your best bet is to burn calories through cardioe exercise
30-40 mins 3-5 days per week
then the body toning will be more effective.. will tighten and tone...
but first u need to burn your fat..
and eat a better diet,..
