My friend and I had a few too many and got in a fight outside my house (stupid, I know) and someone called the cops (not us). We both said we did not want to press charges from the start but were still arrested. All charges against us both were eventually dropped due to lack of evidence (neither of us would make a statement). My question is will this incident still be on my record w/o a conviction or trial?
Update:dontyouaskme: Lol, it is funny to hear a little boy talk about street cred. And, actually, you would lose it if you told on your friend and pressed charges, not by doing the opposite.

The arrest will be in the computer system but there will be no public record if it never went to court and you were not sentenced to anything.
Without a trial or conviction by trial then THAT particular incident will not appear on your criminal record, if you actually have one. But it may be worth remembering that the law enforcement officers that dealt with your case may just happen to remember you by your record of arrest in future times.
It all depends on who's looking at your record. If a job does a criminal background check on you, it would depend on the type of job and how detailed the information they receive is. If you are attempting to get a job in government, or one that requires any kind of clearance, then yes...they will see it!
No, but you've lost your street cred, yo.
