I find that churches do a lot of propounding of irrelevant issues simply to justify their existence a little like bureaucrats. For example, priests cannot marry. But why not? Jesus himself the ultimate authority on it clearly doesn't make a rule about this and many other such things. I don't recall Jesus himself creating any special initiation that creates a class system of priests and common people. With priests being especially given the right to do certain jobs, such as consult people on how to raise families despite never having even had sex ones self. So I feel forget church it seems just another way of a certain group holding authority, oftentimes many priests expect a certain special treatment and authority out of church too. So I say forget going to church because you are being brainwashed to follow a certain method of communicating with god rather than Jesus's own recommendation to speak direct from the heart always and anytime. Sincerity not church on Sunday is the way

No, I do not entirely agree with any church and its dogma and doctrine, so I choose a church that allows me the freedom to have my own. I do not go to church on any regular basis as I do not feel a need for it. But my parents, who are in their 70s are very involved with their church (it is the same as mine) and it centers their lives spiritually and socially. So, we are all different I think and that is okay too.
Dear Sarah,
I'm glad you love Jesus. I do too!
I joined a Non-Denominational church 3 years ago after doing a lot of church shopping. I do not think in terms of what I agree or disagree with but rather I think of how closely the church I attend or belong to agrees with the Bible.
Churches are made up of sinners so I think of them as being like hospitals. Some follow tradition and what has always been done while others follow closely what the Bible says.
That is why it is so important to actually read the Bible and that is something I've been doing on an annual basis for nearly 16 years now.
For His glory,
JOYfilled
Religion cannot save. Only Jesus can. I believe he uses churches for our good but clearly they can get a power trip and start to do silly things that bolster their power all while they think that doing so is God's will.
Walk with God daily. Let Him be the author and finisher of your faith. Remember that upon Jesus's death, the viel in the temple was torn. That put the priest out of job and Jesus in the job of mediator. Let him do his job in your life and see churches as only advisors...sometimes good, sometimes just plain silly, and sometimes even working against you and your relationship with God. Once you learn the difference, you are truly free indeed.
