Almost everyone I know is obsessed with pop culture, celebrities... who's famous, who's not... who could be, or 'getting' famous. It's really, really annoying and serves no actual purpose, except for mind numbing entertainment.
Yes. It's essentially just excess profit being made off of entertaining the masses with stupid petty non-sense. I think a perfect example of how bad it has become is the new format of the "The Insider" in which the hosts sit down at a table, making up arguments/debates over petty things. I also think a lot of celebrities and entertainment networks have created a lot of "controversies" to keep the paparazzi, tabloid, entertainment business, etc profitable.
Whatever happened to the days when Hollywood had class? Movies made for quality, not cheap things put together in a hurried way to make a profit, not [insert remake name here] version 3, 4 and 5. Celebrities who didn't act like morons to get attention and money from interviews because of their stunts. I think India's Bollywood is looking a lot classier these days.
I think we been brainwashed by the media and the government to think about fame, society, being rich, skinny, and hot. Looks back hundreds of years ago when we weren't brainwashed into thinking this way. 90% of people were in shape and didn't dwell on their problems. Our minds give us what we want but we been programmed to get the complete opposite. If you think the complete opposite of what you want and that's what you'll get. It's very real and that's what our government doesn't want us to know. And that's how they got people looking at skin color instead of the person inside. Someone can still fall in love with someone with a different skin color. It's not race related it's a human connection.
