an algabreic equation
2x + 5(x - 1) = 9 when x = 2.
2x + 5(2 - 1) = 9
2x + 5 = 9
2(2) + 5 = 9
4 + 5 = 9
9 = 9.
Replace x with 2 and evaluate.
2(2) + 5 ( 2-1) = 9
4+5 (1) = 9
9 = 9
Easy replace the variable (x) with 2 so you get 2(2) + 5 (2-1)
Then you get 10-5 which equals 5. So go back 2(2) + 5 equals 9 done
2x+5(x-1)=9 ; x = 2
2x + 5x - 5 = 9
7x = 14
x = 14/7 = 2
i´m not entirely sure though
2 is the root of the equation.
