I babysit my best friends 1 year old son and he is eating his diapers. I have a three year old and my three month old that I watch as well but have never experienced anything like this. Is it normal for a child to eat their diapers? He pees and poops in them and then takes them off and tries to eat them. I am at a loss on what to do. Is this a behavioral problem? What can I do to get him to stop? I just had to clean up poop off my walls, the pack n play he sleeps in and the blankets. Someone please help!

Sounds normal to me. There's a lot of babies that like to take off their dirty diapers and play with what's inside, and remember at that age playing with means sticking it in their mouths!
Some tips/tricks - put the diaper on backwards so he can't reach the tabs (that tricked my guy who likes to be naked for about 2 weeks)
-keep a onesie on him so he can't get at the diaper
-packing tape once around the diaper to cover the tabs but not to make the diaper any tighter. Guarantees he can't get it off but heaven forbid if you can't find the scissors when it has to come off!!
He'll get bored of that game in a few months. Now if he was 3 and still doing that, then I would be concerned! RIght now, you just have to learn how to outsmart him.
Its not good at all for him to do this he can get very sick. You need to let her know I have a 4 year old and a 2 yeah old and my oldest when she was about 2 went throgh a 2 month stage of takeing the diaper off poopin in the floor and then rubbing it on walls. Never ate it but made a big mess. It may just be a stage just got to keep yours eyes on him alot
Need to ALWAYS make sure he has pants on that he cant get through. Try the one peice outfits, and keep all diapers out of reach.
Some kids do that.. gross but it happens... :)
Good luck
Duct tape his diaper on =D cant take it off, cant eat it!
