Well done fellas, the long wait is finally over. I have to say I have been impressed with Australia's performance, Oz have made some massive improvements in their game and England have been bitterly disappointing. We only have to wait a year and a half to get it back though :)
BQ) Do you think Australia will complete a whitewash?
Update:Jay: Well I'm not ashamed, winning and losing is part of the game. Part of being a fan is enjoying the highs and pulling through the lows. I would be ashamed of pretending to be South African and giving useless answers in every question, congratulations on being the laughing stock of the Y!A cricket section.
Update 3:Normalina: Since the World Cup is held in Feb 2015 in Oz it would have been impractical to have the Ashes immediately before the World Cup. To avoid the scheduling clash the 2014/15 Ashes series has been moved forward to now and the 2017 Ashes series in England has been moved forward to 2015. The next Ashes series to be held in Australia will be 2017/18.

Congrats Aussies :-)
Cheers mate, mighty nice of ya.
BQ: I think England will win in Sydney.
I am really happy. I must admit earlier today I was scared that England were going to pull off a miraculous victory, but once the 7th wicket fell after lunch it was only a matter of time
Australia will win 5 nil, and will retain the ashes in the next series too.
This is a really young Aussie side and it is on it's way up. The only hope in their batting lineup is the number 5, although if Bailey stays aggresive he could still play his part and be a useful middle order batsman. And Australia's bowlers are formidable, no flaw there.
England is a good side but I feel they are declining at the moment.
It happens like that. You can only be at the top for so long.
C'mon Aussie, c'mon.
Thanks for the well wishes.
A whitewash is always possible but I doubt it. I wish my negativity would switch off though.
Only 1 1/2 years for the next Ashes? I thought the World Cup is on then.
edit: I'm a little confused. Isn't it being played now because it can't be played in 2015?
EDIT: Thank you for clarifying. So in truth, The Ashes being moved forward to now without a 2 year gap as should be expected, means that this Ashes now, is an extra one. Clever really, it means more money for the ICC.
Congratulations to Australia and so nice of you to put up a Question..It pleases me to see another example that most of us Cricket fans enjoy the sport for what it is whether its a win or loss...
Australia has been very convincing so far in the test series largely thanks to a very good team effort and fascinating style of Cricket they have been known to play...England can take some heart from the way Stokes played today,he is one of the plus points for them after a very difficult three tests..
BQ)England are still a very quality Test team, its the same bunch of players which has brought a lots of success for them overseas and at home..Iam sure they must be trying to analyse what exactly went wrong for them and come back stronger..It's difficult to predict whether the series heads to a whitewash but if England string together some convincing performance in the remaining test matches, the battle will be more balanced from one way traffic..
It pleases me greatly to see a Pom accepting defeat gracefully! :)
After all its all part and parcel of the game! Australia played some intimidating cricket, congratulations to them!
Somewhere deep down, I had this little theory of mine that defied all logic and hoped for an English win in dramatic circumstances! Nothing better than something which endorses the saying - Cricket is a funny game, isn't it?
Ben Stokes was the one who stood out in the crumbling debris of English batting, and I must admit his valour has impressed fans all over the world following the Ashes, including me!
It'd be intersting to see if you guys can stop the Aussie juggernaut!
BQ) Possible, only if this victory doesn't go to their heads! If Mitch bangs it in as he has done so far, heads might roll....quite literally! All the best to both the teams!
Cheers! :)
When you say Australia I do hope you mean the players and not the ACB.
The ACB has tried for the last 4 years to stuff this team.
A good coach giving the players the right mind set will always beat a pack is pencil pushing d!ckheads.
Australia has urned it.
25% chance to whitewash.
25% for 3-2
50% for 4-1
Yes
Goodonya cobber.
I think your blokes will like Melbourne and Sydney. I'm not calling 5-0.
Id be ashamed if i were you HDB....you"ve played like feeble minnows throughout the series so far...Congratulations on being the official laughing stock of world cricket : )
BQ-Sure seems that way EDIT- haha atleast i dont have a queer name like "Half drag queen Boy" haha
