Most driving i'd do will probably be around town and i live in a suburban area. The car i was looking at was 30 mpg. would you consider that good or. i dont know what is prefeterable for today's economy.
Update:I dont plan to do much driving besides around town and to work.

Gasoline costs $4.00 per gallon. You can drive 30 miles for $4.00. Add in the daily average cost for license plates, insurance, maintenance, interest on your car loan, etc.
That 30 miles now costs between 6 and 7 dollars. How much do you plan on driving, and what can you really afford?
30mpg would be excellent if it were for city, but i know eclipses dont get that in town. 30 on the highway is average. my car gets about 18-20 in town, 27-33 highway.
Now compared to my bike, 30 is bad lol. I get about 40ish absolutely destroying the throttle, and driving conservatively, probably somewhere into the 60's. But it's a bike, different story!
almost any car can get 30 mpg. i can get almost 35 mpg in a cadillac deville and that car has a V8. i also have a 1995 ford explorer V6 and it gets 8-12 mpg non highway 11-14 highway.
Cars these days can get up to 40 MPG, but that's HWY. I'd say 30 MPG HWY for your car is pretty decent.
Thats about avg. I drive a camaro and I get around 17-21
haha, i laughed when i seen this question. in my opinion i would die for that gas milage. i got a 91 gmc 2500 with a 454 big block, six inch lift, and 35 inch tires, which only gets about 9 MPG. but whatever, i can get to places others can't. -cityslackers- lmao
yes that is good mpg... but that is probably highway rating not in town rating... what type of car is it?
Is 30mpg Good
