What worked in the "founding fathers" time was great. However the whole rest of the world has moved forward while the USA is stagnant in many, many areas.
Anytime someone proposes a new idea, a new way of doing things, the American population as a collective whole cries "NO".
Why? I have a controversial theory. Bare with me while I explain it.
Why would anyone want to change the way things are done in America? From the day we are born, to the day we die, we are brainwashed with the idea that America is the best country on Earth, that Americans have the very best of everything, and no other country comes close. From newspapers, tv, radio, school, parents, even from the Pulpit at church this idea is constantly reinforced. In order for Americans to want change, they have to know and understand that change is indeed needed. But unfortunately 3/4 of Americans do not even own a passport, therefore have never even been outside the USA. They believe all the hype and propaganda fed to them, without having any other first hand knowledge to the contrary. If you try and explain the truth to them, that the USA is not the best country (may have been at one time, but no longer) and the reasons why..they get this deer in the headlights look, shake their heads,,and don't believe a word you say. Because even though it is the truth, it directly contradicts what they have been fed their entire lives. Mass brain washing is what it is.
Well, if we're not going to trust them, who are we going to trust? There's only so much you can change in a country through the normal political process, if you disagree with the founding principles of the country then you're probably better off moving to a place you find more agreeable.
Personally, I think most of the ideas put forth by the Founding Fathers aren't just good because of the people who had them, they're good because they're supported by proper logic and argumentation.
Edit: Well of course, blindly following the Founding Fathers is not a good thing. As times change so too a country changes. But they Founding Fathers have built a basic framework within which we can change. They're not the answer to everything, but keeping their ideas in mind is good.
It's not a matter of trust, but a matter of the Constitution. We are a product of those fathers. We need to look back to the Constitution so we have an unbiased point of law.
Without the Founders' intent, we would be in chaos with laws popping up at arbitrarily and at random.
Because they had good ideas. If you see conspiracy signs on a dollar bill you're an idiot. The colonies were called the new world" in those days so it's no suprise that after a revolution there would be a new order
probably because that trust has served us pretty well for over 200 yrs. we became the strongest, most looked up to and prosperous nation in history while other forms of govt. have collapsed and become extinct. what are suggesting we replace that with?

I am not sure about their intents, but the constitution they made for us is the contract that we live by.
Without a contract between the government and the people we revert to 'divine right of kings', or whoever happens to have the most power.
The American revolution is the only revolt that did not end up with a dictator.
I am eternally greatful to the 'Founding Fathers" for setting up a government by the people instead of just one more dictatorship.

Because unlike the Socialist Liberals of today.......our Founding Fathers loved America & Freedom
Precious few Americans today sacrificed as much as our Founders did for their freedom... I'll take their intentions, thank you.
You unblocked me!
I like freedom.
I can only think of one reason why someone would leave their home and attempt to form a completely new country by themselves..................
Freedom, period!
