I feel bad that Im sitting out on family events. I have cramps my cycle started yesterday. I' depressed that I had started and wanted to be pregnant. gggrr.
Stay away from caffeine including chocolate, tea, and especially soda and energy drinks. Take the multi symptom extra strength variety of Midol or Pamprin. The Multi Symptom extra strength pills include a "booster" such as a small amount of caffeine that help the body absorb the medications faster. The multi symptom varieties also contain a diuretic which will help with the bloating. The ingredients found in Midol and Pamprin Extra Strength Multi Symptom help with the cramps, nausea, and bloating. If you need more cramp relief, a heating pad helps when you are laying down, but you can use a heat wrap around your waist which is reusable for heat on the go, or purchase ThermoCare Heat Wraps for Menstrual Cramps...they are expensive, but they do work.
Also, try and get some exercise on a regular basis, it will ease your cramps. Stay away from high fat, high grease foods as well. Walk as much as possible when you are on your period, even if it is only for a few minutes at a time. Take calcium the week before and the week of your period to help lessen the cramps. If the cramps are still to much to deal with, talk to your doctor, and they can prescribe you a muscle relaxer that will ease the pain and cramping.

i would take ibuprofen, midol, or any other pain reliever. and take a nap, with maybe light shining on you, for i heard from my doctor that light being shone through the body helps ease the menstrual pains of the uterus. also, i would maybe walk around for a little bit, that helped me when i got my early this month, and i nearly died from the pain, so i walked around in agony, took some ibuprofen and laid down & went to sleep, it helped me a bit..hope you feel better!

I have bananas, and walks really help too, Stay away from salty and fatty foods, If this doesnt help crouching with your knees on the ground help too
