motion? I mean before plants, animals and people?
And just so we are all clear on my thoughts I am a Y.E.C. However, I get it that some of you think differently than me, so again who or what sat this world into motion?
Update:Y.E.C. means Young Earth Creationest!
In other words I have a Bible based understanding of how this world came to be.

PEOPLE ARE SOOOO DUMB. - The answer is all around us. ENERGY....
Use it or lose it people. Everything on this planet was once, is or about to be.
Think outside the box or live in one.
Actually if you're a Y.E.C.-ist then you don't just have a biblical based understanding of how the world came to be, you've got a literalist biblical understanding and thus are discounting the possibility that the Bible is a metaphorical accounting of creation. In other words, unlike some Christians you've set up a condition that science and religion are axiomatically at odds. Sadly bringing Christianity into the same orbit of anti-reason religions like Islam is, and has been since Islam rejected the Hellenic (Greek) enlightenment handed to them after their early conquests. What saved The West, meaning largely Christianity, from the dark ages was the belief that reason and revelation should be aligned, that reason and revelation would arrive at the same place. Maybe it was always a dream, and never fully practiced, but it was the reason that the West arose first and discovered science.
Regardless of the above, and onto the question: The beginning of the world, the beginning of the cosmos, and the beginning of life all happened at vastly different times. The cosmos was created via the Big Bang that has been deduced from our understanding of mathematical and empirical based physics. Billions of years later our solar system evolved out the materials from previous stars with this planet being one of many planets that formed around the sun. Once again, this model is deduced from our understanding of physics. A hell of long time later life arose, most likely out of auto-catalyic chemicals existing in the shallow pools of water. This has been deduced from our current understanding of physics, chemistry and biology. Then once life arose evolution started to happened -- no complete model of evolution has been produced yet since we're still learning more, but the argument is over which theory of evolution happened, not if evolution happened. Once again all this has been deduced from our current understanding of the science and has been like figuring out the biggest puzzle of them all. What set all this in motion is unknown as of yet (or at least it is via science), but some people who are religious minded don't mind saying it was God.
First I don't know what a Y.E.C is. As far as what or who started all this, good question. I remember in science class hearing that an atom is composed of mainly space. When I look out at the sky at night and gaze upon the stars, I think that our universe is composed of mainly space. So are we just a part of a subatomic particle in our own atom that is a larger part of something. I often wonder what kind of other worlds live inside of us, attached to our molecules,by way of atom, by way of space. Be it Called by the name of God, Creater, Spirit, Only through death and faith will know the true answer. As to who or what started the world into motion. I believe imagination did.
Momma nature. And you DON'T mess around with Momma Nature.
Now a Y.E.C. is exactly what???
I am a human.
another impossible question asked to you by...
Ok so this can't be explained understood only theorized
Its like asking why grass is green water is blue and whether we will ever find other life out in space
but what can be explained is that beyond all odds we exist whether or not theres a true explanation behind it and we can only accept existence
What ever you want to believe, your answer is as good as mine or any of the 6 billion beliefs out there.
Nobody knows yet. And I think it's very arrogant (or very delusional) of people to claim they do.
Only God In my book.
