Which ram is best for me? size and speed?

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5400+ 2.80 GHz
Installed Memory 1GB (895mb usable)
i also noticed its been going pretty slow lately when i have a couple applications running...i need it for basic use not no gaming or anything like that

Just go to crucial.com (google it) and download & run their free, safe, memory scanner. It will show you what's in your computer now, of what type and in what slots, and also the most it can support. Then you can go buy it wherever you want.
Since you're running 32-bit windows know that 4GB is the most you probably want anyway (if your computer supports that). If you got 2 slots now with 1 empty and 1 with a GB inside, getting a 2nd single-GB chip for the empty slot will work (relative) wonders for you.
For your specification 2GB is gud get transcand manufa. And if your willing to buy video card then extend ram to 4 Gb.. 8GB is optional if you can afford
You need more ram and it will help to clean you registry with cc cleaner
The more RAM you get... the better.
