Selanne has been seen practicing at Anaheim Ice the past few weeks. Local fans and media feel pretty strongly that he'll be coming back, and the Ducks have what it takes to sign him.
Personally, I think Teemu just wants to make sure the Ducks have a chance to repeat, and going 10-2-2 over the last 14 games has been pretty telling to that effect. I expect him back and playing by the end of January.
Teemu Selanne will decide in the next two weeks weather or not he will retire. The Los Angeles Post reported that Monday morning. If he decides to stay though, the Ducks and the Thrashers are hunting him for a contract.
Selanne was interviewed on the radio Monday night and said he has no idea if he's coming back or not, but his agent has been in contact with several teams to see if anybody is interested in his services.
When he was asked about Anaheim, he said that Anaheim doesn't have the cap space.
When the interviewer asked him to lower his price...he said his union wouldn't allow him to do that.
That is why unions should be outlawed.
So, he says he may be playing, but that it might not be Anaheim.
A friend of my son's talked to Teemu at Anaheim Ice. He said he would be returning, making an announcement the middle of January. So hopefully, this is true. Teemu, however, will not be playing with any team other than Anaheim. He has made this perfectly clear, so the rumors about Dallas and the other teams are just that, rumors.
a really good friend of his was seriously ill and is on the verge of dying, and I guess he's really lost passion for the sport. He told a european (i think it was a finnish tabloid) that he may retire but he'll announce something this month!
