The appendix sits at the junction of the small intestine and large intestine. It’s a thin tube about four inches long. Normally, the appendix sits in the lower right abdomen.
The function of the appendix is unknown. One theory is that the appendix acts as a storehouse for good bacteria, “rebooting” the digestive system after diarrheal illnesses. Other experts believe the appendix is just a useless remnant from our evolutionary past. Surgical removal of the appendix causes no observable health problems
Actually they have discovered this within the last few months. Its purpose is to store digestive bacteria. These days we know we can restore digestive bacteria by eating yogurt or some probiotic. So when we have diarrhea or take antibiotics, we don't really need the appendix to release bacteria to replenish the gut, but that was the original purpose.
it breaks down bones and stuff that we no longer eat. it used to be bigger but as we started eating more refined foods its gotten smaller over the years.

Hey Dear,
Appendix is of no use in our body.
Its just a trouble giver like tonsils etc.
Yes, I have read something about it. It says there that appendix has no real specific use. Yet damage to it is very dangerous.
