I like Pawn stars, American pickers, Counting cars, Bear Grills, and Modern Marvels. but seriously when did they become the redneck broadcastins networks. Im of mixed race and live in Florida, I could care less about some rednecks making moonshine, some a**hole drunk named Tickle, some inbreed idoits catching gators in swamps, a show called god guns and automobiles with a idot who sells big trucks, gold rush, ice road truckers, I cant even start on amish mafia, if I were amish Id sue them. Ive heardthey do this for money but who actually watches that fake scripted bs. I cant even relate to it at all. And those Discovery specials about mermaids and megalodons just make me sick, they make a mockery out of science. When will they get rid of those shitty shows????

Yes one does get annoyed, I just choose the programme I fancy on whatever channel
Thank-you for posting this question! I am fed up with the lies being told on a channel that dares to call itself "The History Channel."
A lot of people may not remember this, but the movie titled "The Blair Witch Project" was only a big financial success because the History Channel LIED. The History Channel declared that "The Blair Witch Project" was a TRUE STORY.
After that? The History Channel did a story about whether or not dragons really existed. There's nothing wrong with that. However, they showed us a museum with the bones of what could only have been a dragon. It even had wings! Neither the museum nor the "dragon bones" had ever existed. It was all faked.
The Discovery Channel comes along with that outrageous program declaring that mermaids have been discovered to be the real thing. It's all true!
Only? It wasn't true at all...
There was a time in this country when broadcast channels would never have been allowed to put on programs that told outright lies. I really miss that protection, and I wish they'd bring it back.
As to all the redneck programs on TV? All you can do is complain to the sponsors of those programs. Unfortunately a few of those shows caught on, and when that happens? The networks go insane with knock-offs.
Simple answer - when people stop watching.
If these shows weren't getting the ratings, they wouldn't stay on the air. Most networks/cable channels are resorting to so-called 'reality shows' because, unlike many of us, that is what the majority seem to prefer watching. I thought the trend towards such shows would eventually diminish but it has been quite the opposite, with more and more of the same each year.
Amen, brother. My cable company shows re-runs of re-runs of this BS. To add insult to injury half the time they show a couple of dozen commercials in a row. Even this Yahoo business is more ad content than real content and for the most part you can't even comment on any of the BS. then there's this 'new format' that totally sucks. Lately I spend more time at the library to find a good book than watching TV and noodling around on the internet. Will anyone listen? Hell no! You can't even contact them.
That's the problem with 24/7 broadcasting. Eventually even the science-oriented channels start scraping the bottom of the barrel for something to put on.
