And what's the fun in it?
I'm a deist and I recently heard of this thing called a Christian camp. Is it like a place where youngsters gather and just do things? What could make a camp Christian? Do they just pray a lot?
Basically my question is "what is a christian camp and what goes on there?"

I am almost 74 and enjoy Christian Vision for men in the UK. Most of the 1100 men recently involved in the three day camp are considerably younger and yet we all love a tremendous sense of fun , adventure, out and out worship.1000 men singing sounds hugely inspirational. Fifty a side football, bucking bronco, assault courses, darts tournaments, dynamic speakers from all walks of life from racing drivers, bankers, SAS veterans, former crooks , ex cons, wife beaters, news editors, mission leaders, policemen ,scientists, lawyers, tradesmen. All One in Christ , We commissioned a ship to cross to Ireland one year. This year we plan to climb a mountain simply to sing and praise toGod, our maker and redeemer. The mission statement is a challenge to the fuddy duddy culture in the UK, especially of stale churches and militant secular dogma. Simply to spread the message of good news. That Christ not only died for us but lives in us to give everyone abundant life. Faith in CVM mission will reach a million men in UK.
Though not intended its effect has been to prompt many such camps and mens breakfasts in other parts of the world.
In 2012 we ended by literally kneeling in prayer for our country in mud slurry which was both funny and poignant.
They do the normal things that kids do at other camps, plus they have devotional times in the mornings, and they have a teaching time (maybe a pastor will speak) in the evenings. The afternoons are free usually to swim, do crafts, hike, get snacks, rest or whatever. At least this was the way it was at one camp I went to about 3 or 4 times. Even at Christian camps they tell ghost stories (at least at some of them), and joke a lot, have skits, etc. That was a long time ago. I also went to one in the high mountains. Not so good there, not enough counselors, I almost fell off a cliff when we were on a long hike on a sweltering day.
It's like any other camp, except there will be some emphasis on spiritual activities. Probably services once or twice a day, possibly some Bible reading, but there will most likely be the usual camp activities: swimming, hiking, volleyball, basketball, baseball, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Arts and crafts. Stuff like that.
What makes a camp Christian is that it's being run by a Christian group, and Christians send their kids there.
I've known many camp Christians but never a Christian camp.
