I am 26 and have found what feels like a lump just above my right nipple. It is about the size of a pea and can be moved about under the skin. Sometimes it takes a few seconds to find it but is not sore, however i wanted to know whether to get this checked out.
Thanks in advance to all that answer x

Signs and symptoms of breast cancer include:
Lumps either in the breast, along the chest bone, and in the armpit area.
o These lumps do not come and go, but remain and may grow over time.
Unusual change in breast shape or size
Changes in the skin of the breast
o Dimpling or puckering
o Thickening and discolouration – “orange peel” effect
Redness, swelling and increased warmth
Nipple changes;
o Crusting, ulcers or scaling
o Inverted nipples – if it is sudden and not your norm
o Nipple discharge
o Itching of the nipple or breast
While these signs and symptoms may be due to other breast conditions, they should be checked by a trained health care professional. Talk to your doctor if you notice any of the above!
There is no “normal” as breasts will develop and change over time during various stages of life – puberty, menstruation (monthly period), pregnancy and menopause. As a teenager going through puberty, they may notice the following:
Hair around the nipples
Inverted nipples
Nipple discharge
Sensitivity or discomfort
Swelling, tenderness, increased lumpiness
Stretch marks
Different sized breasts
Some of these will disappear over time but some remain. What is “normal” for one person may not be normal for someone else.
Everyone should know what is “normal” for them, and know what changes are normal over the course of the month. If something changes which is unexpected, talk to a health care professional.
I hope that this helps!!
Breast cancer in someone as young as you is extremely rare however It's good you have checked your breasts for lumps and bumps.
What you've described sounds to me like a fibroadenoma or 'breast mouse' this is a completely harmless lump that grows in breast tissue, it is very common in younger women and does no harm at all (except for making women worry!) They either stay as they are, vanish completely, or get a bit larger until the woman feels uncomfortable with it. They can be removed or left as the woman wishes.
Anyway, to answer your question. Breast cancer will not be able to be 'moved', it will feel firm, might have a lumpy surface, will feel irregular around the edges and it might be hard to tell where the lump begins and were it ends with the normal breast tissue. They will get noticeably larger over time and can cause skin changes such as puckering, or nipple problems such as bleeding or discharge. They are usually not painful.
However, for any woman who finds a lump, it is usually safest to go to the doctor for a check over. This helps to confirm what the lump is, fibroadenoma, cyst, infection or something a bit more worrying, and at least then the woman can be reassured or proceed on to some treatment.
So to summarise, I think this is a harmless lump but I would suggest you go to your doctor so they can feel the lump and decide if you would benefit from an ultrasound to see it in more detail.
When you check your breasts make sure you feel up into your arm pits as well.,
All the Best
Get checked by the doctor. I had the same thing when I was 19 (with a family history of breast cancer). I felt 1 lumb and my doctor wanted it removed, 3 weeks later when I went into surgery it became much larger and there were several others. The doctor said usually when the lump can move, it is not cancer, but I would not take a chance. I would rather be safe than sorry.
I think sometimes women get benign lumps in their breasts (small ones) and they are nothing. There are glands in your breasts and the little lumps have something to do with them. However, the only way to find out for sure is to see your doctor. If it were to be a malignant lump, finding it when it is so small would likely be a good thing. So I wouldn't wait if you're worried.
Movable is a good sign, but get it checked to be sure.
80% of breast lumps Dr's send for further investigation are not cancerous. Breasts are just lumpy things.
A breast cancer lump may feel hard, and may feel pitted like a golf ball, but to be sure you should visit your doctor if you notice any change in your breasts.
