Me and my friends are having a dinner party with each of us responsible for one course. I'm in charge of starters and would like some ideas of what to make.
The starters need to be vegetarian as some of the people will be vegetarian and I would rather just make one thing for everyone. The dishes also can't have fish or mushrooms on them.
I'll be making the starter beforehand and taking it round to my friends so something cold or that's easy to reheat and prepare would be good.
I was thinking of a cheese and onion tart of some description but I am open to all suggestions.
Thanks!

Goat cheese stuffed piquillo peppers. That's a very easy dish to make, can be eaten cold or heated quickly in the oven and tastes fantastic - perfect as an appetizer. Just get a jar of piquillo peppers, stuff them carefully with goat cheese, drizzle with some olive oil (maybe add some finely chopped garlic, shallots or basil) and bake them in the oven until the cheese melts. Here is a great video explaining how to make them:

Two fresh figs per person. Make a cross slit in the figs and stuff them with soft, smelly cheese. Brie or Camembert for preference. Stick them under the grill until the cheese melts and starts to colours. Serve with a rocket salad dressed with a drizzle of olive oil and lemon juice, seasoned with freshly ground mixed pepper and a little salt.
If you want to eat truly healthy, lose body fat consistently, normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, prevent cancer, and even boost your brain health and energy levels, you may have heard all over the news that the Paleo Diet has been found to be one of the best methods of achieving all of these benefits compared to any other popular "fad" diets out there. Go here https://bitly.im/aOglN
The truth is that the Paleo Diet will never be considered a fad because it's just simply the way that humans evolved to eat over approximately 2 million years. And eating in a similar fashion to our ancestors has been proven time and time again to offer amazing health benefits, including prevention of most diseases of civilization such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimers, and other chronic conditions that are mostly caused by poor diet and lifestyle. One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Paleo Diet is that it's a meat-eating diet, or a super low-carb diet. This is not true
Fajitas are very fun for a dinner party! Cut up different colored peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, even yellow squash if you like and saute them in a pan with olive or vegitable oil. Lay out tortillas, salsa, cheese, sour cream and lettuce or fresh spinach and have it be a build-your-own buffet. This is easy and fun and it goes great with margaritas or lemon ice tea.
Hummous and home made flatbread. Buy 2 tins of chick peas, and liquidize them with a good splash of lemon juice, black pepper and garlic to taste - that's your hummous (addwater to get to an acceptible consistancy). Cover and chill. Then, in a bowl, mix 8oz of self-raising flour, with 5 fl.oz of natural yoghurt. Can add flavourings as well (black pepper, cayenne pepper, black mustard seeds). Mix until you get a fairly wet dough. Take small handfuls, squash into flatbread shapes, and grill for a couple of minutes each side. Serve immediately. OR Very Quick Pea and Mint Soup (This might require you to be in the UK! Trust me - this tastes really classy) Liquidise the following: 2 tins of mushy peas Mint Sauce to taste Enough vegetable stock to get a good consistency Can be served hot or cold. Garnish with some or all of single cream, chopped chives, green pesto, ice cubes (if cold ;-} ).

Bruschetta!
Simply take a French baguette or Italian loaf, slice it one inch thick, and brush it with a little olive oil and garlic. Toast it in the oven, or the grill...
then top it with; diced tomatoes, finely diced red onion, a dash of olive oil, sliced basil, a small dash of red wine vinegar, and salt and pepper to taste.
Top with shaved parmesan or bocconcini. Everyone will love it!
2-3 vegetable kebabs per person with a little rice.
