In this reaction problem: chlorine gas is bubbled into a cold, dilute solution of potassium hydroxide, I can see how the reactants would be Cl2 + KOH. But how do you figure out what the products are?
Update:The products are KCL + KCLO + H2O but I don't know why...it's not double replacement, single replacement, etc.

I don't think you can be absolutely certain (without actually doing it), but with some experience with how chemicals behave, it can give you some ideas.
Cl2 is a fairly powerful oxidant so it could cause other chemicals to change.
It turns out to be the following reaction:
3 Cl2 + 6 KOH(aq) -> 5 KCl(aq) + KClO3(aq) + 3 H2O(l)
I actually had to look this up (Google), but knew enough about Cl2 and potential products to know to look further.

Are there any observation listed about the reactants? Colour state etc?
I would say that the reaction would go as follows
Cl2 + 2KOH --> 2KCL + 2OH-
