Question about air force basic training?
leaving for basic training june 22nd n was wondering if after basic if i get to spend a little time wth them before i have to go to tech school im from san antonio so lackland is right down the street would i have like 2 days off after basic to spend time with my family or do i have to go straight to tech school

the last 2-3 days of Basic Depending on how you do you get to spend the days with your family to do whatever but you have to be back on a certain time or you won't be a happy camper. =) So you don't get 2 full days leave to do whatever you want but you get most of the days to spend with your family. it's usually one day on base and 2 days to go off base and prade around in Uniform if you want to spend that time home go for it if you want to use your discount for free sea world do that too. But REMEMBER DON'T BE LATE COMING BACK. but some "flights" in basic who weren't so good actually lose a day sometimes. so yeah.

Like the others said you get time with them grad weekend. You will get more or less depending on how well your flight does or if you get honor grad.Always be ahead of time when you have to be back or they will take time away. Also don't count on how much time you'll have...the TI's will constantly change everything. But yes after graduation they will send ya straight to tech. All airman now get flights to school but when my hubby graduated in october they put them on a 13 hour bus ride to Keesler.
You'll have two days to spend depending on how your flight performs. This time is up to your T.I. (Training Instructor). To bolster this chance, you'll need to get AEF banner, marching banner, marksmen banner, and Flight Banner, which are given mainly to the T.I who performs the best. His performance is rated with the help of a "blue rope T.I" which grades him on how well hes trained you.
At times you'll be partnered with "Sister Flights" or "Brother Flights" that live next door and carry out the same tasks as you at the same times. T.I's will enjoy making both of you push eachother by saying remarks about your flights performance and what not.
Remember this if anything, Its easier to go through this program for 8 weeks than to "bail out" of it by faking illnesses, mental instability, or any other factor. Just get through the program, do whats needed, and your scot free.
