"A wheel of 1.5m rotates at uniform speed. If a point on the rim of the wheel has a centripetal acceleration of 1.2 m/s^2, what is the point's tangential speed?"
I used the equation a = (w^2) * r and got 0.894m/s. According to the book's answer, it's 1.3m/s. What am I doing wrong?

You are given a centripetal acceleration here...
Ac = v² / r
where
Ac = centripetal acceleration = 1.2 m/s²
v = tangential velocity = ?
r = radius = 1.5 m
so
(1.2 m/s²) = v² / (1.5 m)
v = √[ (1.2 m/s²) × (1.5 m) ]
v = 1.3 m/s
