i dont usually straighten my hair but when i do it only stays straight for a couple of hours. my hair normally flips at the ends and has a little bit of a wave to it. when i go to skool it only lasts 2-3 hours. i dont plays with it or do anything that would mess it up.

There are a lot of ways to make your hair stay straight longer. I am African American and Puerto Rican, so my hair type is crazy (lol). I have very curly hair and a big head so I have to wear it straight. Now what I do is after shampooing and conditioning my hair, I spray a heat protectant to it while wet. Next I get a big barrel round brush and section off my hair into 4 pts. I blow dry my hair going in a downward motion. This is to make sure that the cuticle of the hair remains laying down and not blown up. Down is the key! Next, I don't add any product because it will weigh the hair down, but I have the best flat iron a hundred dollars can buy and I recommend it! Its called the Maxi Glide. After I'm done with the flat ironing, I spray a light oil like Garnier Fructise on top. My hair can last up to 2-3 wks being flat. Please invest in this flat iron...I stand behind it! Hope this helps
same thing used to happen to my hair, it was so annoying...it's coz your not spending enough time doing it... what straightner do you have, coz that could help. i've had three straightners and two of them were good brands and my hair stays straight for the whole day but the other one is really crap, it only stays for a few hours like yours but the good ones were like that too when i didnt straighten properley
i used to straighten it before 30 minutes before i left home for skool...what you should do is straighten it after you have a shower (if you have a wet to straight one) or do it when it's dry the night before and put something in to help it stay, when you wake up it will be sort of straightish and straighten it again...this is bad coz it you damage you hair more than usual but i seriously can't help it...lol
when you straighten it take small chunks and do it really slow so that the heat stays longer
also it depends on the weather...moist air can make your hair messed up...i don't know where you live so i can't recomend any products but if you live in australia 'marc daniels go straight and shiny' works really good....go to the shops and look for something that keeps your hairstraight longer, look at really good brands...i think you can buy tresemme anywhere...no frizz iron style & hold spray works pretty well too
