It just seems to turn itself off randomly, sometimes it's on for less that 10 seconds, sometimes it stays on for 15 mintues, but it always turns itself off. What on earth is happening? It's not over heating, I went into the bios and checked.

hii there!!
some motherboards have overheating protection, there should be a jumper on the motherboard to disable that just make sure your heatsink is connected right and the fan is spinning b4 u do. also sometimes you have to plug the cpu fan into the cpu fan plug 1 on the mobo otherwise it will not start. you can usually bypass that by holding down the insert key when you hit the powerswitch. then if all that doesn't help take the mobo, power supply and switch and set it on the table to rule out the possibility of a short to the case. if all that doesn't work start replacing parts till u find out what it is...

Well, this is a very trickey problem to troubleshoot, but here are the most commen...
A. Your computer is too cluttered, and the memory is very low, compaired to the resources and amount of programs, or background programs you are running, and is preforming a memory dump.
Solution: Try installing more ram, scan for viruses, spyware, do a disk cleanup, deleate old files, increase your page file.
B. A combination of a Hardware faliure mixed with A. or a hardware failure by it self.
Sometimes, when a peice of hardware starts to fail, it will shut down the system, sometimes restarting, sometimes not.. being that the hardware is not running to its potential, it will not be providing its full resources when it gets bogged. Other than that it would be trial by error if it was a hardware issue, You would need to consult professional help.
C. Your o/s (windows) is corrupted and needs to be reinstalled. You can try going to the command prompt and running "CHKDSK" this will check the H.D. and windows for errors and will try to recover any lost or damaged files.. if this does not help, you might want to either reinstall the o/s or call in professional help that can do other troubleshooting fixes for you, this can be done remotely or onsite
D. the fans are bad, not cooling right and bios is lieing to you, the powersupply is over heating. My best bet would be the powersupply is over heating but could be a combination of all of the above.
Thank you.

As all have said above it could be a number of things. However, from the spec of your PC you have a lot of heat being generated, so your fans may not be adequate. I had the same problem with new RAM and other stuff on a PC that ran fine for 2 years as well. It did exactly the same as you for mnths and drove me mad, but I'm not saying yours it the same problem. What I did was take off the side panel, checked everything as advised above, then stuck a big desk fan right next to it to blow cold air in it, before and while it was running. This stopped it happening, untill I took it away, then I got the BIOS click (quietly) to tell me it was getting hot again. I put it back and it was fine. I scanned the whole thing when booted, and the other 2 drives I have, as they all generate heat, then I bought a dual fan for £7 to fit inside to compensate for it all. It has never faulted since! It's worth a try as you have added a few bits that are not standard to the motherboard. Hope this helps.
I know that you said that it wasn't overheating.. but to double check that heat isn't an issue.. I would open up the computer and be sure that it was clean inside. I had a very similar thing happen and it turned out that the issue was dust. The fan had become clogged up with dust and couldn't turn properly. Once I cleaned it all out, the fan was spinning wonderfully again and the computer worked like a charm.
Like I said, I know you checked via the bios information.. But just to be more sure.. I think that I would just double check the dust, etc.. (and that the fan itself is working, etc).. Just to be sure. Other than that.. Don't know what to suggest..
I had the same problem with my computer two days back, and it seemed to be turning off when i run the MSCONFIG command.
I tried to make an on line scan of viruses or malware, and found three types of malware, after removing them the problem was gone.
try this.
Your power supply could be overheating and shutting itself down so it doesn't fry. Never trust the BIOS temp reading.
Call your computer's manufacturer and your Internet Service Provider for help with this. They should be able to tell you how to fix the problem you are experiencing.
hey i think it is because you left it on for a long time or it does not have anymore battery. do you hv a firewall?? my offs too but only if i leave it on for 53 hours straight. check the settngs too
there are viruses that will do that, try to start in safe mode and see if that helps. If so, then get an updated anti-virus. Hope that helps
It maybe just because it lacks power supply on your CPU. you may have plugged it in 110 V instead of 220V power socket.
