I would then group the terms into x^2 + yx and zx - 24. I would then take out factors so that the expression left in each set of parentheses is the same. I would then undo the distirbutive property to get my two sets of parentheses.

Quadratic Formula - I would plug in 1 for a, 10 for b, and -24 for c in the quadratic formula, and then simplify.

Completing the Square - I would find out (b/2)^2, and then a certain amount to make the constant equal b^2 / 4. I would then add that same number to the other side of the equation. Then, I would take the square root of each side, and solve for x by subtraction/addition.
