I am trying to add a new file in my notepad but I get a message that says:
Yahoo note pad problem (code 90) Yahoo is performing routine maintenance to improve our service. During this time you cannot modify your notepad. Please try again in 120 mins.
This was over 2 hours ago and I still get this message.

I have been a Heavy Yahoo User since January 2000 - and this is the first time that I have been restrained from updating any of my stuff. Something has broken and there is a huge problem out there. Generally routine maintenance of this scale would be done in the wee hours of the morning when the least amount of users are on-line. I read all of the yahoo info emails that come in, and I did not see anything that mentioned this so called "Routine Maintenance". Back in 2003 my email became inaccessible due to the use of too many folders in my email (about 20) and when they finally unlocked my email 5 days later - all of my archived email, contacts, calendar events were either completely wiped out or mostly wiped out. So this worries me to say the least.
I would bet this is tied to the AWFUL NEW YAHOO mail / home page / calendar that they are just about ready to force us all to use. Too bad - I think the new stuff is terrible. I spend about 15 hours a day logged in and actively checking my email each and everyday. The new system in my opinion is in need of a ton of work before it will be accepted by the masses. Again - if something isn't broke why fix it.
Any others out there that are heavy users - experienced this type of maintenance warning before? I haven't and I use it a ton. If they accidentally erase my stuff again - I will become a Gmail Loyal Soldier. I have already started to store all of my stuff on Amazon S3 Cloud Service with Bucket Explorer - since Yahoo never fully developed Yahoo Briefcase. It will be a pain to move everything but I cant afford another issue like what happened in 2003. Funny I now have about 75 email folders and it works just fine.
I gather from browsing Yahoo Answers (and my own inability to log on to Yahoo Messenger) that Yahoo is performing maintenance to a wide range of their products. It seems to be affecting chat, email, mobile service, etc... No telling when all things Yahoo will be up again. All we can do is wait.
YA crashes now crashes while i bypass to place up an answer. when I hit "back", the respond is long gone. Or the positioning disconnects and that i ought to log in back. curiously that the updates are inflicting a rash of "will a shot from this toy/BB gun somewhat harm?" questions besides.
