LOL.DEPENDS is the answer for everything here isnt it?
Think about it, WHAT do you usually watch? You watch either two things on the tube, computer, magazines and news-perfection OR the its total opposite!
Sometimes yes, reality is portrayed through media-the media based on evidence and the ones that are usually trying to get a certian point or lseeon through. Basically a cultural exchange to you trying to make you realized a "certian something".
Then again, look at t.v. shows and magazine adds. Commercials and billboards, it is pressing the idea of perfection in our minds and we dont even realize it! How many times do you drive past that billboard of the somewhat highly attractive woman with the milk moustache with the question in white written beside her "got milk?" and not notice how that makes you feel!? Not alot, yet it phsychologically plays that broken recod over and over again of something like this: "attractive woman, smiling, milk, milk is good. Milk makes me happy. Milk makes me attractive, milk is for attractive, happy people." a total of .5 seconds and that is all what media needs. You dont even know it and prefection is in our minds! Once we are young, we have no certain direction on how we look at it-we just see it and its engraved on our minds forever *which is why young minds are SO easy to mold and it crucial* On the other hand, we have the t.v shows that portray the "perfect" family, and the models in magazines that portray the "perfect" figure or look. Which is not as subtle.
All in all-there is no straight answer. You choose how you look. Where you look and how you look at it. At this point, the US and media is a mesh and boiling crockpot of diffrent individuals, cultures, ideas and opinians with expeirences sprinkled on top with a side of comments.
the U. S. media, that's strongly motivated with the help of political opinion has a tendency to tread heavily on concerns the place there are strongly held perspectives. The israel/Palestine conflict is one such difficulty. it extremely is a customary actuality that there are extra Jewish people in ny on my own than exists contained in the entire of Israel (and, so a great way as i comprehend, there are not too many Palestinians!) So, a heavy imbalance does play an element on how the U. S. media covers this difficulty.
Why would anyone think this?
Why would anyone think any entertainment industry actually did this?
Art is always merely a reflection of society.
Oh look, my copy of Penrod seems horribly out of tune with today's youth! Those damn Hardy Boys never seem to have to deal with weed and they never even tried to solve the mystery of the old crackhouse.
Yes just as the movie ''The Patriot'' portray how the English locked our people in church and burned them alive after killing all the children first as there were none in the church
It is completely the reverse...US media and entertainment industry is there to PREVENT awareness of a diseased and hijacked reality, not to portray it.
Yes I wear clothes of bacon and ride around in a tank mowing down pedestrians.
No it's not, it was strickly based on entertainment. I asked this one Canadian kid and he asked if all Americans rape people and act like gangbangers, he said it because he believe it represent Americans.
No, it does not. if you watch American TV shows you think all white men are wealthy and own companies. Black people all live in a ghetto and have drug problems.
At times
Watch American Beauty, fight Club, Black like me, American Me or Sicko
Most of the criticism lies in movies and books
