im 13 weeks pregnant and have been experiencing pain in my vagina that feels like someone stabbing me. it comes and goes (mostly at night while im trying to sleep) and only lasts for a few seconds. im wondering if this is something to be concerned about or if its just a common thing. i do have a urinary tract infection that im being treated for, could that be the cause?

Sounds like tweaking....the shifting of the pelvic and abdominal muscles (women with narrow pelvics tend to experience this more). Sometimes the stretch can be so severe you an literally drop to the ground from pain. Make sure you drink plenty of fluids since the more fluids in the body help stretching ease a little. If you ever experience blood loss, fainting, loss of breathe, or a pain longer than 15 minutes...contact your doctor or nurse immediately so they might better assist you. Best of Luck
Could be some round ligament pain or also what i heard it explained that the baby is moving alot and could be hitting nerves but I had it at your same stage it lasted a couple weeks and now has passed. If it gets worse or to a point where you can't stand it and it's constant pain call your Dr or go to the ER to get checked. Best of luck to you.
I think it's a bit early for round ligament pains, and those are usually on the sides of the abdomen, not in the vagina. You should call the doctor and make sure it's nothing to worry about.
It sounds like ligament pains. They can feel like stabbing pains for a second when you change position.
Stabbing pain is not normal ever! I never been stabbed but I think it would hurt like hel*, you should call your dr just to be on the safe side.
Talk to your doctor about any pain you're experiencing. You shouldn't be in a LOT of pain no matter what...
