I remember getting my first dirt bike, It cost me $200.00. It was a 1970 SL 125 Honda. First set your sites a little lower on the amount you want to spend on a dirt bike $2000.00 is a lot to come up with by august if you dont have a paying job and at 14 you cannot legally get one but, here are some ideas!
First search out your extended family members that are home owners, aunts, uncles, Grandma & Grandpa. Tell them about your goal of getting a dirt bike! I am sure they would be glad to help and are needing grass mowed, limbs picked up out of the yard, that old shed cleaned out, the garage swept out, flouresent bulbs replaced (they are allways going out) Then while asking about these chores that allways need done ask them if you can collect their old metal scrap to sell at the scrap yard. Right now recyclable metals are at their highest. 20# of copper can get you $50.00, 100# of it can get you $230.00 see what I mean.
After the end of of June you could be well on your way to buying yourself a later model dirt bike for $500.00 to $900.00. Remember that anything you want is worth working for! an 8 hour day's work for a month or two is a small sacrifice to make for reaching your goal!
