I just recently became a vegan, and I was eating a morning star veggie burger. I was told by my moms co worker who is a vegan to get some of those veggie burgers. So i got some and I thought that they were vegan. I didnt realize that they had milk and eggs after i ate one. I freaked out a little bit thinking that i was no longer a vegan and what not. So I would like to know what to do if this ever happened to me again? And i would like to ask my fellow vegans if this has ever happened to you. Thank you for reading this and taking the time to answer this!:)

What kind of poor excuse for a vegan are you? You should flog yourself for being negligent. Everything you put in your mouth should be heavily scrutinized and deemed vegan-safe beforehand. You have no excuse for laziness. You consumed animal-derived products willingly. Do not call yourself a vegan. It's insulting. You don't care enough about this lifestyle, this cause, to deserve the title of vegan. Now, out of my sight. you :)
You really need to not assume things being a vegan.
If you eat any processed food, even if the box is green in colour, that doesn't mean it's made of flowers and love. There are still milk and cheese in tons of things.
If it was entirely accidental that you chose to not read the ingredients, then let your own momentary guilt be punishment. It's almost your fault in a way but I wouldn't say you are no longer a vegan.
If you really didn't know, let it be a lesson.
Just because something's vegetarian, doesn't mean animals aren't hurt and exploited. Death may not occur, but slavery and usage of the animal is.
I just want to know why you would think they are vegan , if it says vegetarian.
Dude, its not a big deal. Im a vegetation and my twin brother is a vegan, here this might help
A few days ago I dropped a gallon of milk and had to pour it into my brother's almond milk container. I told him that and he said it was fine and that he would not drink it, but we went and for a few days and when we came back he had a bowl of cereal, and used the milk, he was really disturb about it but he did not mean to and that it what matters.
Also my brothers ex would drink a juice thing that had honey in it and she did not know till my brother told her about it.
So its not a big deal, it was a honest mistake dude.
Being a vegan isn't like being a virgin. The odd unknowing slip doesn't knock you down in rank or diminish your sincerity as a vegan. You're a vegan in your heart. That's what matters. I imagine you'll be more cautious from now on.
I had many dietary slip-ups as a transitioning vegan. It's a common occurrence when you're getting used to a lifestyle change. Just learn to identify animal ingredients and always read labels.
Accidents happen. Learn from your mistake, forgive yourself, and move on..
and life went on
