i got her from a neighbor who also got her completely bald, including the top of her head. apparently she was with other birds who used to pick her feathers out. her head feathers have grown back, and i have seen slight improvement since i first saw the bird like 2 months ago. what can i do to help her grow her feathers back? she has beautiful tail and wing feathers. she has no sores, scabs, i watch her and she just seems to clean herself. she is in overall good health i believe. ANY help at all would be appreciated!!

It is obvious that your new bird was bullied by the others by them pecking out her feathers. but do not worry they will grow back with some good care.
First you need to be feeding as supplements to a good seed diet , the following green food, Broccoli,Kale, Cress, Celery Sweet Corn Cob, soaked sprouting seed, these will all help feather growth and keep your bird in a fit condition.
Do not feed Pellets
A daily mist spray of warm water will do her good.it may take a while for her feathers to regrow , usually if they are due to moult they will grow, as for her Bald patch on the top of her head , this could be the mutation, as some color mutations have a bald patch, Lutino's are prone to this.
As a breeder for over 50 years of Cockatiels I have tried to breed out this .but like many other breeders without success, this bald patch does not in any way harm your bird.someone says that it is through other birds plucking ,it may be but , not in the case of Lutino mutations.and not by over grooming.

You suggested you're hand feeding them. it incredibly is the reason you at the instant are not seeing any warning signs of feather growth. it incredibly is going to take longer than if the father and mom do it. How ever that being suggested you does not generally start to work out feather growth in earnest till approximately 12 to fourteen days of age and if none via 21 days then you definately must be concerned.
Why are its feathers out? I have a cockatiel and the patch from his head is bald too. But that's from overgrooming. You'll just have to wait a few weeks, or possibly months.
