Maybe lots of background programs are running, and thats why it takes so long to shut down. Check your startup folder, and check startup programs by typing 'msconfig' into the run box.
depends what OS n what you have loaded --- do you have a lot of pages open and just close or what? ---- sorry i have no need for speed on shutdown - with in reason--when was the last time you defragged your pc or deleted you cookies ?

C:\Windows\Temp
C:\Windows\Prefetch
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Downloads
C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp

Its your OS or the amount of programs you have open. Mine only takes like 10 seconds
