Don't let your heart/feelings rule your decisions alone, use your brain too. What is the best for the ducks? Put yourself into their position, would you like their life? Add the time that they would be alone and caged up. Your mum is probably right! You are so young, you have a lot of living to do. Pets need a mum, not a teenager that is a lot away. Trust your mum. Your time will come when you are a little older and settled in your life. Then you will be able to care for ducks better.
But to sooth your aching heart: Why don't you try to talk to your mum, maybe you could have another pet, that does not need so much time spend. Like fish or hamsters, mice, etc They will make lovely pets. But please always keep two, so they have each other, when you are not there. But remember always, keep cages as big as possible, as interesting with toys, hutches, branches, bedding material, something to gnaw on and of course the appropriate food and fresh water. You will also keep it clean and do a daily tidy-up of faeces and urine and take yesterday's old food out. Once a week clean the cage totally out and give new bedding. so if you are willing to spend at least that amount of time with a pet, then go for it. But if you think, ah, no I prefer to go on the Internet or visiting friends or you just simply have too much homework, then DON'T HAVE ANY TILL YOU HAVE the TIME. Because you obviously love animals and you wouldn't not want your pets to be lonely, unhappy, sickly animals, I know, that you will make the right decision!
Maybe you could go and visit them???? That would help.
I don't understand why you got ducklings and kept them for only two weeks. Isn't it a lifetime deal when you get a pet? I'm not trying to be sarcastic, just wondering.
sadly it is your moms house.. therefore her rules
love is not enough - let them go to a different home.. ducks dont really need much time.. but.. still its your moms house..
personally we have lots of animals including chickens.. but I dont want ducks - so we dont have ducks.. (I am the mom)
rememeber when you move out and buy your own house - its your rules!
Maybe you can convince your parents to let you have a pet bird. I'd recommend a Cockatiel.
