Two the of the jockeys involved are Joel Rosario and Rafael Hernandez, who I think is related to Brian Hernandez. The horse that clipped heels with another horse and caused the wreck was euthanized following the accident. The horse's name was Kandoo, I think.
It's not the first time a wreck like this has happened at this track. My prayers are with the jockeys and their families, and with Kandoo's connections.

Unfortunately, that's the dangers of Horse Racing. I saw the CBS headlines, and just sent the related link http://miami.cbslocal.com/2016/02/22/horse-euthani... to Blue Jay to read, which was on today Yahoo's homepage headlines. I did not see it on BloodHorse.com yet. For those who may read this answer, here's the details.. or you can click on link above for related information plus video.
Sat. Feb 20- Three horses collided during the Melody of Colors Stake Race on Saturday. Officials said one horse clipped another’s heel and fell, causing a third horse to fall over it.
Jockey Joel Rosario fractured his wrist and will be out “four to five weeks,” according to agent Ron Anderson, after being thrown from the horse.
“It’s a standard fracture like anyone would get trying to break their fall,” he said. “They’ll put a plate on it Monday to speed things up. We’re very lucky it’s not worse. Joel’s helmet split right in two, so that helmet did its job and probably saved his life.”
Rafael Hernandez suffered broken ribs and a broken collarbone, according to agent Cliff Collier.
“There’s no damage to the spine,” Collier said. “He’ll remain in the hospital for three or four more days just to make sure everything is okay. The ribs are painful. I would say he’ll be out six weeks at least. Probably more.”
The two other riders were thrown from their horses but only suffered minor injuries. They’re expected to compete when racing resumes on Wednesday.
One of the horses, Kandoo, had to be euthanized. The other horses escaped injury. RIP Kandoo.
THE OTHER ACCIDENT also at Gulfstream Park officials were several jockeys escaped serious injury in spills in back-to-back races was Jan. 20.
DETAILS:
In the ninth race, a starter/optional claiming test at six furlongs, Raised for Speed ducked in and fell suddenly while clear of the field in the final sixteenth of a mile and threw rider Abdiel Jaen. Vero's Hero was unable to avoid Raised for Speed and lost rider Edgard Zayas.
Jaen and Zayas walked back to the jockeys' room. Vero's Hero did not appear to sustain any injuries, while Raised for Speed was vanned back to the barn area for further evaluation.
In the 10th race, an allowance/optional claiming event at five furlongs on the turf, Suzzona, ridden by Matthew Rispoli, clipped heels and fell on the far turn. Cameo Lady, ridden by Luis Saez, and Unseen Visitor, under Joel Rosario, both fell over Suzzona.
Saez and Rosario escaped serious injury, Gulfstream officials said, while Rispoli was transported to nearby Memorial Regional Hospital. Suzzona and Unseen Visitor were on their feet after the accident; Cameo Lady was vanned to the barn area, officials said.
Well, that covers that sad news. Just like any other sporting event Horse Racing has it's accidents scares and tragidites. No matter it's always hard to hear. My prayers also are with the jockeys and their families, Kandoo's connections. Here's wishing all involved the very best. Thx for posting question Starlight 1.
They show the video. And the front horse went down then 2 right close behind it stumble as the jockeys their own selfs took a tumble and got trampled by the following horses. While it happened right at the start of the stretch run is often when the lead horses as pace setters get caught and bunched up by rallying horses that catch up, so clipping heels does happen. This event was tragic for 3 horses and jockeys on them. Owners, trainers, and even us horse racing fans suffer along with them.
Its a dangerous sport. The jockeys risk injury in every race.
