I think you should just tell him how you feel. Writing a letter is permanent, and in a few years you might regret what you wrote, and it might be awkward to write your feeling for him in a yearbook where others can read it.

Through somesweet things you might add can be:

"You have meant the world to me"

"You helped me through..."

"You were always there, when no one else was.."

"I loved you, am loving you, and always will"

"I will never forget the time..."

"Every moment we spend together makes my heart skip a beat"

"I came into this world not knowing what love had to offer, but now i do"

Just some random stuff. Hope i helped.

If you're not a couple yet, don't profess your love yet as this is such a permanent thing. Simply tell him that you value or treasure the "relationship" you've had through the years and that you hope to always be close. Close can mean a lot of things and so can "relationship."

Well what is it that you want to say to him? I mean, its "you" who loves him after all. You have to speak from the heart, otherwise a strangers words would mean nothing. He might think you wrote it but you'll always know. You might as well go to a Hallmark and copy a poem out of a greeting card.
