Do you guys remember Bush? I remember in the 90's, people around here thought they were the be all end all. ( I thought they were repetitive and boring )
What do you think of Bush.....
Hmmm... that could be a double entendre....

I pretty much stand where you are on them. During the actual period of their popularity, they could well be summed up as repetitive and boring. I will say this much for them. Compared to some of the current crop of popular indie (The Ting-Tings, Cold War Kids, Flobots) as well as the acronym mafia circle of death (MCR, FOB, PATD, TBS), Bush all of a sudden became a lot better from a historical perspective. But at the time, I hated them. They were (and remain) a Nirvana rip-off with really stupid lyrics. There’s no sex in your violence, I don’t believe that Elvis is dead, rain dogs howl for the century, and on and on it goes, just plain asinine and annoying, proving that anyone with an actual pulse can write their very own rock songs.
Indeed it can be. The other one remains fantastic.
Not George.
After Bush Gavin was in a band called Institute. He then released a solo album. I got this from Wikipedia "In an interview with Blender, Gavin Rossdale admitted that the likelihood of a Bush reunion was "very high". He then added "quite high,"[5] In a November 2008 interview, Rossdale revealed that he had tried to contact the other members of Bush, "I reached out to them,"[6] however he is currently planning a full-scale solo tour, which will hit the road in Spring 2009."
I like Bush. I agree that they were a Nirvana ripoff, but being a little worse than Nirvana is a task any band today would kill to do. Bush was very popular here in the United States back in the 90's (mostly because of Sixteen Stone). They were really the last popular band that was any good (by popular, I mean the song was heard on hit music stations and not just rock ones). Today, hits music is unbearable. Back in the 90's, I loved hits because they had great diversity from all genres. Now it is all the same. Even rock radio sucks now. Any of the good bands don't get airplay. Good thing there are so many other ways to get music now than back in the 90's.
I agree that Bush was a grunge rip off, but I did like Sixteen Stone, Everything Zen and Comedown were the standout tracks for me. I didn't care much for their follow up album Razorblade Suitcase only song I liked on there was Greedy Fly.
I bought Sixteen Stone....They were reasonable but I never liked the song Glycerine and I tuned them out after that.
By the way, I did not go to the double entendre, but I did immediately think of the political side!
Mmmm.....Gavin Rossdale was HAWT. Probably wasn't what you meant, huh?
Bush was an all right band. I owned Sixteen Stone, and I rather liked it for what it was. They weren't groundbreaking or anything, but I thought the song "Comedown" was GREAT!
I remember there was some backlash against them, saying they were a watered down, more commercialized Nirvana. I did like 1 or 2 songs, but in my mind, they're lumped into that category called "Bands I Never Think of Until Someone Brings Them Up" lol
Well he parlayed a crappy band into a hot wife. Boring perfectly describes bush. They were the 90's version of Nickleback.
They had one relevant album "Sixteen Stone". Then the single "Swallowed" from "Razorblade Suitcase". After that we didn't hear of them much, although I'm sure they still attained a devoted following.
I hear they're getting back together.
I've always enjoyed Bush.
I liked the album "Sixteen Stone", and i wish Gavin would get them back together..i loved that band..Gavin's solo stuff is ok, but its no Bush.
