I made a music video in Flash MX but when I try to export it it comes out too big even tho it's only 5 minutes (more than 500mb, avi file). How can I reduce the size of it? Or is there any other way to export it and how? (I need details 'cause I'm new to this). Also I don't really care for the export format as long as I'll be able to upload it on youtube or a similar site.

500mb at 5 minutes? Yeah, that's a bit on the excessive side. I'm not sure why you're using Flash to be honest. It's great for in web design and browser based games, but for video... there's better programs. I'd suggest After Effects.
If you insist on using flash though, one of the first things that I think of with seeing such large files being put out is what resolution are you using? For the web, anything over 400x600 is getting a touch on the big side of things. You'll find larger sometimes used for movie or gametrailers, but typically people use that as a maximum size to avoid long load times.
Now, one nice thing about flash is when you export, if you click on advanced settings you get quality settings you can play with as well as estimaded final file size... I'd suggest you use that.
Long answer short, you're not using an optimal program for what you want and you probably have too high resolution on the video.
